Samarpan Pratishthan

Women, irrespective of social, financial backgrounds or marital status, face harassment and sexual abuse. While Anger, Annoyance and Embarrassment are most common short term emotional responses, harassment may lead to prolonged stress or depression. Sexual harassment deprives women from active social and economic participation resulting into educational and professional losses to them. Often times women are victimised by their own friends, relatives or someone socially powerful. Women loose social support too, if any, in such cases. Steps to legal aid is prohibitory and makes women more vulnerable.

It takes a lot of courage for a survivor to share their experience. She needs a safe & non-judgmental environment, emotional comfort and support to express feelings. A place which understands that sexual assault is never the survivor’s fault and only the perpetrator is to blame. Recovery is a long term process and the survivor needs hand holding throughout. Samarpan is just that place. Amol is just that person.
